Music, to be precise

At long last, the Circa1984 Records website is redesigned, now as a branch of the Circal collective. I hope the new design is to everybody's tastes; I certainly think it looks nicer. It should also be tons easier to find whatever it is you're looking for. But we're open to suggestions! If you think things could be done a bit better, send me an e-mail. A new heading in the title bar, some content you think we should put up, anything.

Now for a rundown of what's happening.

Blitz is on fire. His work just gets better and better, and we're glad to be providing him the space on the internet to make his music available. Although he's only put out two official releases with us thus far (the incredible debut Residue, and the followup single Kyoto) we've also got about three hours worth of live material up in the appropriate section. Check it out if you fancy something to relax to.

I (me, myself, Terry Goodwin) am working on my third solo album, under the Loaner moniker; my first full collection of original songs since 1984 in 2002. I also wrote a single orchestral piece for a friend this Christmas, and although it's been given a catalogue number and it's an official release, a download has been put on indefinite hold. We'll see.

New signee Woyk (Phil Loynes, of Red Rising) is working on his own debut, a much more electronic, rough-edged spinner than the typical output of RR, and it promises to be something special. You can get to some work-in-progress samples on his myspace through his section.

The latest release in the Circa1984 canon comes from solo-guitarist RedwaX (Ricky Knight of the recently renamed Baldwins, formerly Self Service) and is entitled A Very RedwaX Christmas. Given the catalogue number CIR029, RedwaX Christmas represents the second release on Circa1984 Records by RedwaX. I'll have to try and get some of his older, pre-Silus work up on the site.

We hope you like what you hear.
